DATA STORYTELLING
No more swathes of stakeholders falling asleep when you pull out the charts. Communicating effectively with data is a crucial skill for anyone who wants to lead in a modern organisation.
Trusted by teams in best-in-class organisations
Facing issues such as:
As MIT lecturer Miro Kazakoff puts it, “If you want people to make the right decisions with data, you have to get in their head in a way they understand… with stories.” That’s why we teach professionals to:
Tailor data storytelling to address the needs, priorities, and context of specific audiences.
Formulate hypotheses and recommendations that deliver meaningful insights and actionable value for their organisation.
Influence decisions and improve organisational performance by turning data insights into clear, compelling narratives.
“For years, I’ve been trying to break certain barriers in storytelling – how best to engage my audience with presentations, and how to inspire action. The frameworks & tips taught mades a world of difference. I am confident that this course will benefit all groups of people, not just client-serving teams but anyone keen to develop convincing, impactful and inspiring ways to deliver their story.”
Data scientists, market researchers, and analysts who interpret market and industry data to help enterprises make informed decisions.
Marketing and customer analytics professionals who analyse campaign performance, customer behaviour, and databases to connect insights with business strategy and goals.
Those who use numbers to assess company health, performance, and targets to bridge the gap between metrics and real-world impact.
Workshop Agenda
We’re constantly surrounded by data – KPIs, financial forecasts, customer retention rates. These data points are constantly folded into our regular communications at work. However, data storytelling is more than just showing data points on slides. Today, it’s more important than ever to convey data as a narrative that humans can comprehend

Not at all. This programme focuses on the principles of data storytelling rather than specific tools. While we use Excel during class for practice purposes, the techniques you learn can be applied to any platform, from dashboards to slides.
If your main interest is learning how to create visualisations and charts, we recommend our Data Visualisation course, a separate one-day programme dedicated to that. Many clients pair both courses together for a complete learning journey.
There is an option but we don’t recommend a half-day format. Data storytelling requires time for practice, feedback, and application to real-world scenarios. Compressing the programme would limit hands-on exercises and reduce impact. For the best results, we suggest a full-day programme.
This course is ideally suited for professionals who work with data regularly and want to communicate insights more effectively. It’s also valuable for executives or team members who may not handle data daily but want to leverage existing data and help stakeholders make informed, data-driven decisions. To ensure everyone gets the most value, we recommend splitting sessions into beginner and advanced levels.
